An off-shore worker threatened to send compromising photos of his wife to her friends and family if she ever left him.
Andrew McKenzie appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Thursday where he was banned from attempting to contact the woman for the next two years.
The 43 year-old, whose address was given in court papers as Prospect Terrace, Lossiemouth, admitted several charges.
He pleaded guilty to repeatedly acting in an aggressive manner towards the woman between October 26 last year and May 5 this.
He also admitted repeatedly taking possession of her mobile phone, withdrawing money from her bank account without her permission and making derogatory comments about her.
On one occasion McKenzie pushed the woman out of the house while she was barefoot and in her pyjamas.
McKenzie also admitted to using a 'find my phone' app to trace her movements.
Fiscal depute Victoria Silver related to the court how on one occasion in February the woman was on her mobile in a car park in Elgin when the defendant appeared and demanded to know who she was talking to.
Then, later that day, the same thing happened in a different car park in Elgin.
Defence solicitor Grant Dalgleish said: "This is the end of the marriage. He apologises to the complainer and to the court. He was going through severe stress and his mental health was poor."
McKenzie was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work for the community within the next year.
He was placed under the supervision of social workers for the next two years.
A non-harassment order was also imposed for the same period of time.
