VOLUNTEERS who painted a community pavilion in Moray at the weekend have seen their work undone just two days later.
A group of eight people gave up their time to repaint the Rothes pavilion on Saturday morning to cover up graffiti that had been on the building for years.
However, they returned on Monday to find it covered in swastikas and other explicit images.
Graeme Christie, who holds the key for the pavilion, was the first to discover the graffiti on Monday morning.
He said: "It's sickening to see. People have given up their time to make it look better.
"We got paint together, volunteers and everyone commented on how beautiful it looked.
"It looked great and within two days this has happened. To cover it in swastikas as well, you know I don't think they fully realise what that symbol means and how serious it is.
"We've got the brand new play park next to it as well so wee kids could see it. It's a hard one to take given the effort that went into covering up the original graffiti.
"It's just senseless."
Police are now involved and Graeme is keen to see some sort of repercussions for the incident.
"They need to know that there will be consequences," he added.
"Luckily we've still got paint left over so we can cover it again but this needs to be nipped in the bud.
"The culprits should be the ones to fix this mess and I was hoping for them to come forward to do that."
