Moray Ploughing Match Society's event takes place at Kirkhill Farm in Alves

A TOTAL of 38 ploughmen were in action at Moray Ploughing Match Society's annual event.

The match, held on Saturday, November 12, took place at Kirkhill Farm in Alves, on land made available from Martin Taylor & Sons.

There were a total of five classes throughout the day, with judging taking into account all aspects of each competing rig.

Spectators also had plenty to see with three local machinery dealers demonstration ploughing rigs.

Mark Skea, from Inverurie, was the overall winner and picked up the Linkwood Championship Shield.

J Seivwright, who travelled all the way from Meigle in Perthshire, secured reserve and the Calcot Cup.
