An Elgin teenager has been picked to star in a new podcast about armed forces life.

.

Dominic Barstow, who's 14, will appear on the SQUAD podcast after being selected by the national military children’s charity Little Troopers

The show is presented by the Leicester Tigers rugby player Thom Smith who also grew up in a military family.

Dominic, whose dad serves in the RAF, said: "I’ve been recording my own podcast for a while now and I love it, so when my mum told me about the SQUAD podcast I applied.

"It’s been really fun to record and I’d like to thank Little Troopers for the opportunity to be involved."

Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers, said: "It’s so important to our charity that people don’t forget about military teenagers.

"We want them to have a voice and hear from each other about their experiences of military life.

"We hope that lots of military teens will listen to SQUAD at home.

"We also hope that secondary schools will also find value in bringing their military children together to listen in class.

"It could be used to spark further conversation about military life in school."

The first of eight episodes of SQUAD is now available to follow.
