THIS bright blue roundel now takes pride of place in the flower bed on the western approach to Elgin.

Rotary Elgin’s president elect Michelle Anderson joined with other Rotarians and Alick Omay from Peter Mitchell & Son general engineers to unveil the roundel (a circular disc used as an emblem).

Alick sized and designed the roundel which was then powder coated by Highland Galvanizers.

Anne Sim of Rotary Elgin said the club have maintained this flower bed for a number of years and are extremely grateful to both businesses for providing this in recognition of the work Rotary does in the local community.

Anne said: "Special thanks go to Rotarian Kenny Munro for negotiating this and concreting in place, Stuart Copland for tidying the grass area and to all Rotarians who keep it weeded and watered when the bedding plants are in situ.

"Let’s hope our rabbit friends are not so hungry this year so we can showcase the roundel when the plants are in full bloom."
