Sheriff Ian Cruickshank heard the case at Inverness Justice Centre.

Police decided to investigate after becoming suspicious that a storage unit in Moray was being used in the supply of drugs.

Officers obtained a search warrant after examining CCTV footage of the yard at Begrow Farm in Duffus.

This revealed three young men visiting the site on a regular basis during February 2020.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that the unit had been rented by Andrew Grant of Millbuie Street, Elgin, who was still just a teenager at time.

The site was raided on February 15.

Police recovered heat-sealed bags containing cocaine and cannabis.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood stated that drugs valued at £6510 were found as well as a metal press.

Grant, who's now aged 21, was arrested on the same day, as was his co-accused Dylan Scott (23) of High Street, Lossiemouth.

A third accused, Lee Slater (22) of Meadow Crescent, Elgin, was later arrested after his fingerprints were found upon the metal press and on other items.

When charged with being involved in the supply of drugs, Grant said: "That unit has nothing to do with me. I'm not linked to it. There is nothing in there you can link me to."

However the keys to the lock-up were found attached to his car keyring.

Police also seized documents which proved Grant was the lease holder.

All three defendants admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs between July 31, 2019 and February 15, 2020.

Sentence was deferred on them until October 13 for background reports,

They had their bail continued until that date.
