Moray Winter Climate Cafés set to shine light on environmental issues
TACKLING climate change in Moray is set to take centre stage at three forthcoming events in the region.
Run by tsiMoray – which supports third sector organisations in the region in a variety of ways – is set to hold three Winter Climate Cafés, beginning next Tuesday in Keith.
This will be followed on Monday, January 29 by one in Buckie and will be rounded off on Friday, February 2 in Forres.
The sessions will have a slightly different focus, but are all designed to get people understanding what climate action is being taken in Moray, and how people and organisations can see where they fit in.
The Keith event, which will be held in the North Church Hall from 5.30pm to 8pm, will look at clean energy with speakers from local environmental charity REAP.
In Buckie, the spotlight will fall on care and repair. Hosted by Moray Reach Out (MRO) from 9.30am to 12 noon, the session is being held in partnership with Glasgow School of Art Future skills programme. Representatives from the school will lead a practical mending and storytelling workshop, while speakers from MRO and tsiMoray will present on their respective organisation's contributions to Just Transition.
Finally, in Elgin, come along to find out more about what is happening about climate change in the area with tsiMoray and Outfit Moray. Speakers will include Louise Nicol, Moray's Climate Network Development Officer and Tony Brown from Outfit Moray. The session will be held in Moray Sports Centre, 1.30pm-4pm.
