Alice Adshead from Johnstons of Elgin has received the award, which is presented to a local employer each month who has worked to support DYW across the Moray region.

During her time at Johnstons, Alice has been committed to providing support to help young people enter the world of work.

Johnstons of Elgin have supported more than 20 engagements with young people across schools in Moray, since September 2023 with more events lined up in the coming weeks and months. These have included career fairs, mock interviews, class talks and workplace tours. Alice is dedicated to ensuring that young people across Moray are given support to allow them to enter the world of work with a wealth of knowledge and skills behind them.

DYW Moray School Coordinator, Emma said: “Alice has shown huge commitment and ambition to reach as many young people across Moray as possible. She has a real passion for supporting young people to build on their skills and gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of work.

"Johnstons of Elgin have also pledged their support to the Young Person’s Guarantee and support young people out-with the Moray region when asked too. Alice takes time out of her busy schedule to support many DYW asks across all the schools in Moray, and we are looking forward to launching an exciting collaborative project later in the year. Very well-deserved Alice, congratulations!”

On receiving the award Alice said: “I’m really excited to receive the DYW award, it’s a great achievement supporting the community’s young people and is one of my favourite parts with working at Johnstons of Elgin.”
