A MORAY woman is set to shave her head to raise money for a charity that helped her daughter when she was suffering from cancer.
Linda Ogilvie, whose daughter Laura passed away on July 18 last year after a battle with cancer, will be having her head shaved by Kate Cutajar at K&M Barbers, in Elgin, on October 20.
All funds raised will be going to Marie Curie, who Linda said were amazing with Laura in her last days.
With the initial target set at £300 – a smashing £800 has already been raised, with almost two months to go before the cut.
"The support from my colleagues and the public has been overwhelming," Linda, who works at Maryhill Health Centre, said.
"Laura died in July last year aged 32 after being diagnosed with bowel cancer, which spread to her liver.
"Marie Curie's nurses were amazing with her.
"They rely heavily on funding from the public, so I thought I could do this to raise some money for them."
Laura was engaged at the time of her death and died six days before her eldest son's birthday.
Linda herself had a tumour removed the year before her daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

There will also be charity boxes in K&M Barbers, located on South Street in town, and in the Red Lion in Fochabers – where Laura loved to play pool.
