More than 20,000 Moray residents given first Covid-19 jab

MORE than one in five people in Moray have received their first Covid-19 jab.
Figures released by Public Health Scotland every Wednesday afternoon show that, as of February 14, at least 20,898 Moray residents have been given their first dose of either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine.
A total of 6947 were vaccinated across the area between February 7 and February 14.
More than 20 per cent of the area's population – which was 95,520 at the last update in 2018 – has now received a jab.
NHS Grampian celebrated passing the 100,000 vaccination landmark last week, and had given out 122,856 first dose jabs by February 14. That is 25.33 per cent of Grampian's population.
Scotland-wide, 1,255,190 people had received their first jab by February 14. That's 27.64 per cent of Scotland's population. Of those, 15,777 have received their second jab.
More than 94 per cent of those aged 80 plus; 90 per cent of those aged 75-79; 88 per cent of those aged 70-74 and 59 per cent of those aged 65-69 have received their first dose of the vaccine.
The figures also show that the vast majority of care home residents and staff have received their first jab.
