The mother of Sam Beaven is organising a fitting tribute for her late son, by asking bikers to come along and participate in the funeral procession.

Keen motorcyclist, Sam tragically died last month before he was due to take part in Thunder in the Glens, leaving behind his mum Helen, brother Karl and sister Edina.

Forres-born Sam worked together with his mum for the security firm Moray Security, often manning the doors as a bouncer at The Play House Nightclub.

Helen Beaven has asked for people to meet on Friday in Forres to escort Sam on his final run out.

On social media she wrote: "It's not very often I ask a favour of anyone, but I'm going to now. Sam died before he could do the run out at Thunder in the Glens, so I'm asking anyone with a motor bike and an hour to spare around 1.45pm on Friday the 8th of September to meet at Tom Ross funeral home in Forres, to escort Sam on his final run out.

"We are taking him from Forres to Nairn. It would mean so much to myself and the rest of the family if we could make his last journey a special one. Please share as much as possible."

Tributes for Sam have poured in on social media, with people calling him "an absolute gem" and "one of the kindest most genuine souls."

Ms Beaven said on earlier post: "It has been so overwhelming all the messages and calls we have had from all over the north of Scotland, the west coast, Skye and Mull.

"It is so heart warming to see how many lives Sam has touched in his 27 years with us."

The funeral will take place on Friday, September 8, at the Tom Ross Funeral Directors in Forres.
