TICKETS are still available for Scottish rock icons Big Country’s farewell to band member Mike Peters at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen on Friday.
Even without their late, and much missed, co-founder Stuart Adamson, Big Country, now led by guitarist/vocalist Bruce Watson, are still regarded as one of Scottish music’s best live acts.
On a short tour, which takes in venues in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dumfries, Big Country will parade a stunning back catalogue of proud and stirring hit songs such as Fields of Fire, Chance, two-million seller In A Big Country, East Of Eden and their biggest UK hit Look Away.
They will feature alongside tracks from their massive albums such The Seer, Steeltown, Peace In Our Time and the triple Grammy-nominated The Crossing.
The Dunfermline rockers will feature three old mates as guests in the upcoming shows – Stevie Agnew, son of Nazareth’s Pete Agnew, former member of the Alarm Dave Sharp, and Simon Hough, a former frontman with both Denny Laine’s Wings and post-Phil Lynott Thin Lizzy.
Tickets for the Lemon Tree gig, priced at £27.50, are available now from boxoffice.com or www.aberdeenperformingarts.com
