TWO very different "dance" acts will be getting the audience moving at The Ironworks in December.
On Friday 13th December, the north’s own Torridon return to The Ironworks with their Celtic tunes and a new look following recent line-up changes.
Then the following night, Saturday 14th December, trad gives way to electronica as Sister Bliss of Faithless performs a DJ set in the Inverness venue.
Together with iconic frontman Maxi Jazz and producer Rollo Armstrong (brother of Dido), Sister Bliss formed Faithless, one of the most successful electronic acts with a career spanning 17 years, that produced six top 10 singles, record sales in excess of 15 million units worldwide and a Mercury Prize nomination for the album Sunday 8pm.
In 2010, Faithless released their most recent album, The Dance. After a global tour and a summer full of acclaimed festivals, including Ultra in Miami and Glastonbury’s 40th anniversary, they broadcast their final show in April 2011 to thousands of fans in cinemas across Europe.
Other artists Sister Bliss has collaborated with include Dido, Boy George, Cat Power, Robert Smith (The Cure), The Temper Trap and Example, and this year launched her own label, Junkdog Records, as well as broadcasting on Ministry of Sound radio every Friday night.
Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 13th September.
