A NEW charity shop has opened its doors in Elgin.

Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland opened for the first time today (Friday, February 9) at the retail park on Edgar Road.

The store is will start by opening on reduced hours, from 11am until 5pm, as the charity is still on the lookout for local volunteers to support its running.

Andrew Thompson, manager of the Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland Elgin store, said: “It is fantastic to have opened the doors of our latest shop in Elgin.

“Our retail stores are hugely important in raising funds for our charity, allowing us to support the one in five people in Scotland living with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live their lives to the full.

“We are still on the lookout for volunteers and donations from the local community to enable us to extend our opening hours and provide the range of items our customers expect.

"We look forward to meeting people from the local community as they come into the store to learn more about what we have to offer.”

The new retail outlet stocks high-quality women’s wear, accessories, and jewellery, as well as a selection of men’s wear, childrenswear, and bric-a-brac to homeware.

Billy Farrell, head of income generation at Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, said: “Our stores offer sustainable shopping with a range of high-quality, pre-loved items available.

"We hope everyone in Elgin loves the store as much as we do.”

Donations can be dropped off at the store Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm.

Anyone interested in volunteering can also visit the store during these times or contact volunteering@chss.org.uk.

Regular opening hours will be Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
