The team will once again be taking to streets in the village and the surrounding area – complete with their festively decorated fire engine – in aid of local good causes and the Firefighters' Charity.

There will also be a new addition to their schedule, as Crew Commander Dave Crawford revealed.

He said: "We had a lot of requests last year to bring Santa to Lhanbryde so we asked him and he’s delighted to come and meet you all.

"On all dates Santa along with a few of his helpers will be leaving the station at 6pm and we will be posting updates on the fire station Facebook page as we go.

Keep a lookout for the firefighters on the following evenings: Thursday, December 15 – Garmouth and Kingston; Friday, December 16 – Urquhart and Lhanbryde; Saturday, December 17 – Spey Bay and Fochabers; Sunday, December 18 – Mosstodloch.

Last year saw local communities dig deep to support the team, with the firefighters collecting an impressive £2462 thanks to the generosity of local people. It smashed the previous total of around £800.

It was a welcome return to the festive street collection for the team, who had to give Santa a rest in 2020 due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic.
