NHS Grampian has restricted visiting times at all north-east hospitals amid the coronavirus threat.

The changes are aimed at reducing footfall and limiting the spread of the virus in hospitals during the pandemic period.

Visiting times will be restricted to 3-4pm and 7-8pm, including weekdays and weekends, at all NHS Grampian hospitals and inpatient wards, with a maximum of two visitors per patient. The health authority says young children should be kept away.

At Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and other maternity units, only immediate partners will be permitted to visit.

People are asked to only visit patients in hospital if essential. Any person with flu-like symptoms, a cold, cough or fever is being asked to stay away completely.

See nhsinform.scot/coronavirus or call the helpline on 0800 028 2816 for information.

The NHS is advising people who have returned from an affected area and have symptoms to stay at home and call their GP or NHS24 on 111.

The number of people who have tested positive for the virus in Grampian now stands at 26.
