The site of the recently closed Badenoch's pub on Elgin High Street has been put up for rent.

Gairland, the building's owner, says it is offering the premises to experienced hospitality operators free-of-tie from any specific brewery.

The pub has a licensed capacity of 346, plus a 45ft-long bar and a very large commercial kitchen.

It also has a beer garden, although this would be subject to a separate negotiation.

Erin Beaton, Gairland's letting manager, said: "We feel there is a real opportunity here to take on this very large unit and create a unique destination.

"With a prominent frontage on Elgin High Street, this unit offers the ability to develop a distinctive hospitality concept at a truly commercial scale, and free-of-tie.

"Recent interior work – including exposing large stone walls – further enhanced the building's charm and character."

The building is being offered on an FRI (full repairing and insuring lease commercial) lease for £50,000 per year plus VAT.
