Buckie's three councillors had already been elected after the ward was uncontested.

However, all three spoke this morning after an official declaration at Elgin Town Hall this morning.

Returning councillor Sonya Warren (SNP) said: "I'm proud to represent the people of Buckie once again and I promise that I will do all I can for them."

Neil McLennan (Scottish Conservatives) and Christopher Thomas Price (Lib Dems) will represent the ward as newly elected councillors.

Mr McLennan said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be elected despite the unusual circumstances and I'm looking froward to serving the people of Buckie as a whole."

Mr Price added: "I feel privileged to represent the good people of Buckie in this role. I promise to bring my energy and enthusiasm to the role and to listen to give people a voice."
