The show will have something for everyone on the playlist on Saturday, August 27, from Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody to Disney’s Colours of the wind and a medley of Abba tunes, plus Adventures in Brass.

Joining members of the band past and present on stage for the show, which starts at 7pm, will be Mike Lovatt, lead trumpet with the BBC Big Band and John Wilson Orchestra. Mike has worked with some of the best musicians in the business including Quincy Jones, Robbie Williams, Eric Clapton, The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

MCB’s founder and musical director Glenn Munro said: “It is fantastic that we can get a player of Mike’s calibre to come and play with us here in Elgin.

"The band is like one big family and former players from across Scotland and beyond are returning for the concert and to help us celebrate.”

Mr Munro added: “There is going to be a great party atmosphere.”

The band has just returned from a hugely successful tour to Oban that saw them perform 10 pop-up concerts in five days.

Venues included the Atlantis leisure centre, Etive care home, Cal mac Ferry terminal, McCaigs Tower and the Oban to Mull ferry during a crossing.

At each gig the band helped raise funds and awareness for local charities based in Oban and such was the success of the tour they have now been invited to the Oban Winter Festival in November.

Moray Concert Brass was founded in 1992 by Glenn Munro. During that time the band has performed throughout Europe with tours to France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium and The Netherlands.

At home the band has participated in the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships and the European Youth Brass Band Championships. It has also performed numerous concerts in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow and released numerous recordings.

Locally, Moray Concert Brass has worked with world class musicians and performed in the opening Gala concert of the Scottish International Festival of Trumpets in 2010.

Doors open for the show at Elgin Town Hall at 7pm on Saturday, August 27. Tickets cost £8 or £6 for concessions and can be booked at www.morayconcertbrass.com or email: mcbinfo21@gmail.com.
