People across Moray are being asked to nominate their local health and social care heroes as the hunt for Scotland’s most dedicated healthcare professionals gets underway.

Entries are now open for the Scottish Health Awards 2019.

They celebrate the staff, support workers, volunteers and specialist teams who go above and beyond to provide exceptional care and support.

Patients, families, work colleagues and members of the public can make a nomination for one of 17 categories.

Jeane Freeman, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport, said: "Every year the Scottish Health Awards provide an important opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the work of the really dedicated individuals and teams who deliver high quality health and care services to the people of Scotland.

"We continue to make a difference to people's lives thanks to our dedicated staff, working across the NHS, partners in health and social care, voluntary organisations and more. Each achievement and success wouldn’t have happened without their hard work and commitment and I’d want to thank them for that.

"Along with recognising the outstanding contribution of frontline health and social care workers, the Scottish Health Awards also shines a light on those who work so hard behind the scenes in support roles to ensure Scotland has the highest standard of health and social care."

Finalists will be invited to attend the awards ceremony at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh on November 14.

To nominate, go to www.scottishhealthawards.com. Nominations close at 5pm on August 29.
