NORTH of Scotland live event venue P&J Live has been confirmed as host of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) annual scientific meeting.

Taking place from September 25-27, 2025, set to attract approximately 1500 delegates from across Europe to Aberdeen.

The annual scientific meeting allows members to come together with the main goal of supporting the medical field of breast imaging, with members exchanging knowledge, and scientific information to ensure a continuous education in breast imaging. This is the first time this event will take place in Aberdeen, having previously been held in some of the world’s major cities such as Lisbon, Valencia and Paris.

Professor Fiona Gilbert, Radiology and Breast Cancer Research Specialist at University of Cambridge, and previous chair of Radiology at University of Aberdeen, said: “As a past president of EUSOBI I am thrilled to bring this prestigious European meeting to Aberdeen.

"The city has been at the forefront of medical imaging and has pioneered techniques to detect breast cancer with Magnetic Resonance Imaging being the most notable development. MRI is the most sensitive method to detect early breast cancer, so it is fitting to bring this breast imaging meeting to the city.

"I am excited to be showing off my Scottish heritage and sharing the beautiful countryside with the delegates.”

Laura Wilson, Head of Aberdeen Convention Bureau, commented: “We are delighted that Aberdeen has been selected as the destination for the EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting 2025.

"The city has a history of innovation within breast screening, including the recent AI breast screening trials within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, thanks to the ground-breaking work undertaken by the University of Aberdeen and NHS Grampian.

"We look forward to welcoming experts to enjoy our region’s hospitality while collaborating on future research.”

Steve Daun, Head of Sales – Associations, at ASM Global, operator of P&J Live, added: “Aberdeen is incredibly well placed to attract such an important event, with many of its local medical expertise at the forefront of the industry.

"Having worked closely with a number of academics, we are proud to have successfully attracted this global event to P&J Live, once again solidifying our joint team approach with Aberdeen Convention Bureau and the city’s universities for the benefit of the city.”
