The fundraiser, which took place at the home of VIP in Elgin Sports and Community Centre, was organised by Kari Mclennan,

Kari works as a relief practitioner at the childcare centre whilst studying at Aberdeen University to become a teacher.

General manager Zoe Williamson said: "Kari and the team put on an amazing event with over 150 people attending. There was the usual coffee and cake along with face painting, a lucky dip, guess the sweeties in the jar as well as guess the teddy's age."

A raffle, boasting a range of prizes donated by local businesses, was also well supported and a total of £1005 was raised.

Zoe added: "It was a really lovely event and a great opportunity to raise some money for a charity that is close to a lot of our hearts, the team worked brilliantly together to make sure the event went well and we hope the parents and children enjoyed it as much as we did."

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer.

Every September, the charity asks people all over the UK to host their own coffee mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan.

Last year, over £27 million was raised.
