The Guy has been created to go on top of Rotary Elgin's big bonfire on Saturday night in Cooper Park.

As in previous years, the Out of the Darkness Theatre Company have put their skills to use.

Martin McAuslan from the theatre company said: "I think this is the 13th time we've made the Guy.

"We were first asked by the rotary club and it's gone on to become a bit of a tradition now."

About a dozen Out of the Darkness members were involved in creating this year's Guy, including its resident artist Ian Cooper who painted the face.

Margaret Stenton from Rotary Elgin said: "Our bonfire has been a staple in Elgin for years, and we are doing all we can to make this year's event the best one yet.

"As always, entry is free however we are very grateful to all those who come along and support our fundraising efforts with their generous donations.

"Without this ongoing support we would be unable to continue to organise this event. We are also grateful to many local companies who give their time and support in kind to ensure a safe enjoyable night can be had by all."

The bonfire is scheduled to be lit at 6.30pm, followed by a firework display from 7pm.
