ONE coronavirus-related death has been confirmed in Moray in the last week, while there is a significant reduction in weekly case numbers.

The person who died had Covid-19 mentioned on their death certificate. Their death takes Moray's toll since the outbreak began to 57.

Of those 57, 44 tested positive for Covid-19 and passed away within 28 days, while 13 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.

Meanwhile, 337 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray within the last week, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 7110.

This is a significant reduction on the 533 cases confirmed in last week's update. However, a reduction in testing might have something to do with this – with 772 negative tests this week, down on 1046 last week.

NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 56,953 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak began.
