PEOPLE aged 55 and above enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of music and singing at Duffus Village Hall.

Local singer Murray Speirs provided the entertainment at the free event in November, which was part of First Time for Everything, a programme designed by Royal Voluntary Service and supported People’s Postcode Lottery players.

The programme gives people an opportunity to try something new for free in their local community.

Those attending sang along to 60s tunes, country music and some traditional Scottish music, with light refreshments and social time afterwards.

Sharon Finlay, Royal Voluntary Service activity co-ordinator for Moray, said: “Our music afternoon in Duffus Village Hall went down very well.

"People local to the village came along as well as folks from outside the area. It was a lovely informal afternoon singalong and everyone was in fine voice."

The First Time for Everything programme launched in 2017. Since then, more than 700 events have taken place across Great Britain with more than 10,000 having tried new activities.

The next events in Moray will be Christmas crafts at Duffus Village Hall on Wednesday, December 8, at 2pm and Christmas Cake decorating at Burghead Community Hall on Saturday, December 11, at 10am. Booking is essential as places are limited.
