OVER 55s looking to find more time for creativity and mindfulness are being invited to try Zentangle in Elgin next week.

Also known as mindful drawing, a free Zentangle session will take place on Friday, February 10, at Duffus Village Hall at 2pm.

Local artist, Dawn Cawthra, will introduce the practice of Zentangle, with participants to be asked to create artwork while enjoying an afternoon of self-care, good company, creativity and chat.

No art experience or drawing skills are required and refreshments will be provided. The venue is fully accessible to all.

The sessions are part of First Time for Everything, a programme designed by Royal Voluntary Service and supported by People's Postcode Lottery.

Laura Chow, head of charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “It’s never too late to try something new and to have fun trying.

"First Time for Everything activities are a safe, gentle and enjoyable way to be active and social, which are vital to our health and wellbeing.

"Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, local people will be able to enjoy a wide range of interesting activities this year.”

To register for a place at the First Time for Everything Zentagle session, contact Sharon Finlay, Royal Voluntary Service activity co-ordinator, on 07974 415713 or email sharon.finlay@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk.
