Crime in Moray: Pair in court following alleged stabbing of woman in Buckie

A man and a woman have appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court following an alleged stabbing in Buckie on Sunday.

Ashley Reaich (32) and Lauren Harper (30) are both charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life.

He has also been charged with being in possession of a knife or bladed instrument.

The pair appeared in private with neither offering a plea to the charges.

She was released on bail pending further investigations, while he was remanded in custody.

A 32-year-old woman was flown to hospital by air ambulance following the incident which happened on Milton Drive, near the Scotmid store.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a woman having been assaulted at Milton Drive in Buckie shortly before 1pm on Sunday, June 11.

"The 32-year-old woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment."
