PARKLANDS Care Home has paid tribute to its longest-serving employees at an event celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary.
More than 100 staff members from across the company’s homes – including Aberlour, Keith and Buckie – came together for a celebratory dinner at the Mansfield Hotel in Elgin.
The evenings celebrations were hosted by after dinner speaker Alex Fleming and began with a recorded performance of ‘Lean on Me’ from the Parklands Speyside and Glenisla branches’ Heartstrings Choir.
In a speech to the company’s staff, managing director Ron Taylor said: “Each and every one of you has contributed to the warmth and kindness that defines Parklands.
"You are the unsung heroes who turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, day in, day out. In those early days, there were no manuals to guide us, no roadmap to success.
“What made all the difference was the remarkable people who stood by us, and who have made Parklands the success it is.
“It’s not just a workplace — it’s a home filled with love and care.”
Video messages were presented at the ceremony by Highland councillor Alasdair Rhind, singer Isla St Clair and former Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, Clare Russell.
Parklands manager Shona Conlin delivered a Doric poem she wrote, Ode to Parklands, to mark the 30-year history of the company.
She also presented managing director Ron Taylor with a silver quaich as a gift from the Parklands team.
Last month, he received Scottish Care’s Strategic Contribution to Care award, and is a finalist in the Caring UK Awards, which are to be held this month.
