PICTURES: Crowds inspired by 30 local groups at first Aberlour Community Day

THE first-ever Aberlour Community Day last weekend showcased the amazing work of groups based in and around the village.

Held at the Fleming Hall on Sunday, March 24, more than 150 people flocked to the event.

In total, 30 groups were represented at the open day which was hosted by the Aberlour Community Association (ACA).

Highland Youth Theatre made their debut in Aberlour. As of 16 April, they will be bringing Youth Theatre to Speyside and running classes in Aberlour.

The organisations included youth and school clubs, environmental and gardening projects, groups supporting the community’s elderly, religious organisations and sports clubs.

Tea and coffee were on offer at the event, and visitors were welcomed to the hall by a floral arch by Speyside firm Beautiful Balloons and Blooms.

An ACA spokesperson said: “A huge thank you to everyone that made the inaugural Aberlour Community Day a huge success.

“To the organisations that took time out of their weekends to showcase their work in the village, to the organisers that set up, cleaned up, and served teas and coffees; to the great residents of Aberlour that showed up, we are so grateful for you.
