SANTA is more usually associated with a sleigh and reindeer, but just before Christmas he converted to a more down-to-earth form of transport.

Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers at Rotary Club of Buckie, Santa hitched a ride with fund-raising Festive Tractor Run. The event followed a route that took it through both Moray and Aberdeenshire, stopping for a while to meet the public at a number of destinations.

Getting under way at 3.40pm on Saturday, December 23 from Cunningholes industrial estate in Buckie, the procession then drove through Rathven bound for Deskford then Fordyce. Next on the itinerary was Portsoy and Sandend.

Heading back towards Moray the tractors made for Lintmill, followed by Cullen, Portknockie and Findochty.

The parade made for a spectacular sight as it headed through Cluny Square in Buckie before ending at the Drifter car park.
