HARDY souls from across Moray once again took the plunge for the Burghead Boxing Day Swim this afternoon.

Three local charities are set to benefit with donations being split between Wild Things, Outfit Moray and Scotia Medical Group.

The number of people to take the plunge for 2022 increased slightly compared to last year with 25 people jumping into the village harbour's icy waters.

Event organiser Jamie Campbell (30) was pleased to see a good turnout for the village's Boxing Day tradition.

"The number was slightly up from last year," Jamie said.

"We had a really good crowd as well which is great because we weren't sure if it was going to be too cold and there was a lot of people who were ill that kind of pulled out but we had a good turnout and hopefully that will be reflected with what's been collected in the bucket.

"We're very pleased and thankful to everybody that came along."
