RESIDENTS of Hopeman woke up today to discover their GP surgery has been fenced off in preparation for demolition.
Work began to fence off the building, on Hopeman's Harbour Street at around 6.30am on Saturday, October 28 with signs indicating that the building will soon be demolished.
The doctor's surgery, which was run by Moray Coast Medical Practice, has been closed since the beginning of the Covid pandemic and campaigners from the Save Our Surgeries group have been fighting to re-instate the GP services Hopeman and the neighbouring coastal village of Burghead.
Last month, the practice formally stated it has no intention of re-opening the surgery in Hopeman.
