The Christmas lights switch on and festive celebrations were well attended, with Santa meeting children in his grotto and local musicians Country Quines and Elle Sheild both performing at the event.

The town's brand new Christmas lights were then switched on and Keith enjoyed it's first ever Christmas road run, with the tractor parade leaving the square as the lights were switched on.

United Keith Chair Linda Gorn said: "We are delighted crowds turned out on such a bitterly cold day, the Christmas spirit was there big time and we had a brilliant day."

Linda also thanked Keith Rotary and Tesco, who sponsored the children's gifts at the Santa's grotto, along with the competition prize.
