Cake lovers will soon have the chance to sample this very special creation while overlooking one of the best views in Moray.

It's the work of Michael Caton, Hamish Fraser and Cameron Bethell, three pupils at Lossiemouth High School.

And from next weekend onwards it will be making regular appearances on the menu at Torta, the café sited within the boat club at Findhorn.

The café's owner, Katalin Urquhart, got involved after learning that the school was looking to set a challenge for its third year home economics students.

This resulted in the class being split into teams, then tasked with coming up with their own original cake recipes.

The pupils had to cost the ingredients and set a suitable price for their finished cakes.

In addition, they had to carry out research to make sure their creations weren't already available to buy anywhere else in Moray.

Michael, Hamish and Cameron responded to the challenge with a cake they've called 'Made in Moray Mango Three Milk'.

Katalin helped the trio refine their recipe which contains both condensed and evaporated milk as well as the full-fat variety.

She said: "I think people are really going to enjoy the mango cake. It's a bit different and totally delicious."

Torta, which opened nearly two years ago, has seating inside as well as outside overlooking Findhorn Bay.

The café recently took delivery of a coffee making machine which has been handmade in Florence.

Open each week from Thursday to Monday, it is also currently looking for staff members.
