Witness appeal following Elgin vandalism

POLICE in Moray are appealing for witnesses after a number of vehicles and properties were damaged in the centre of Elgin.

The vandalisms occurred on North College Street, Greyfriars Street, Moss Street and Ashgrove Road overnight on Thursday, November 21 to Friday, November 22.

Several vehicles were damaged, the rear windscreen, bonnet and wing mirrors being smashed or broken.

The window of a premises on Moss Street was also smashed. The total value of damage is estimated to be approximately £2500.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Local PC Fiona MacKinnon said: "These reckless and unnecessary acts of vandalism are not only a nuisance, but costly to the owners.

"This sort of behaviour is unacceptable and we are following all lines of enquiry to make sure those responsible are found.

"I am appealing to anyone with information who may have seen anything suspicious on Thursday night into Friday to come forward."
