LOCAL police officers are appealing for the public’s help as they investigate an assault that took place in Elgin a month ago.

A 35-year-old woman was walking her dog on a public footpath off the A941, behind Thornhill Drive, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, February 10, when she pushed over and physically assaulted by a man who then fled.

The man is described as being around six foot tall, average build and was wearing a black jacket with a snood over his face.

Constable Danielle Jack of Elgin Police Station said: “Since this incident happened we have been conducting various enquiries and there has been an increase in patrols to the area.

“However, one month on, we continue to investigate and are asking for the local community’s assistance."

Anyone who may have information about this incident or this man is urged to contact 101, quoting incident 0907 of 11 February, 2021, or report this anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
