POLICE officers in Lossiemouth have received an increased number of calls concerning anti-social behaviour from youths in recent weeks and months.

Distressed members of the public have been phoning the police about anti-social behaviour, which officers described as "unacceptable".

Constable Sutherland said it will not be tolerated by officers and appealed to parents to talk to their children on the subject.

“It is very disappointing to see a small minority of youths behaving in such an unacceptable manner, causing distress within the local community," he said.

"Anti-social and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, and I would urge parents to remind their children of this. I would also like to thank those youths and parents who have engaged positively with us recently.

Police have encouraged anyone with information about anti-social behaviour to get in touch with police on 101 or using the Contact Us form on the Police Scotland website www.scotland.police.uk/secureforms/contact/

Crime can be reported anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
