Concerns have been raised about large groups of Elgin youths congregating in woodlands near the town.

Elgin community police officer PC Jamie Dey met residents near to Oakwood and Mayne Farm yesterday following reports of youths gathering, starting fires and misusing drugs and alcohol.

He said: "As we appreciate the feedback from a number of youths regarding the lack of activities in the evenings and weekends we are working closely with the Moray Council to have more options available.

"Please at this time with the growing number of positive covid cases in Moray please stick to the restrictions and do not gather in large groups."
