Stuart Reid is known for his Gorgeous George series for kids. That includes the best selling Gorgeous George and the Geriatric Generator.

The Aberdonian recently travelled to the school as part of World Book Day celebrations where he talked to some of the kids about reading.

Stuart visits schools and gives talks all over the world but has chosen to dedicate his next book to the Forres school as a thank you for their support recently.

Stuart said: "As a full-time children's author for ten years, I have performed at over 2,000 schools, libraries and book festivals throughout Britain, Ireland, Middle East, Hong Kong, India and Australia.

"My book events are designed to promote literacy, learning and laughter; engaging and inspiring children, especially boys and reluctant readers.

"Recently, throughout the two-week World Book Day period, I visited 11 schools from Brighton, Bagshot, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and up as far north as Forres.

"During that time, I recorded a personal best for book sales of 989 copies.

"I was delighted with this result, and upon posting this on Twitter, the Head Teacher at Kinloss, Rachel Wolford, contacted me to order 12 copies as core reading books.

"I had already sold a few books to pupils at Kinloss that week, and I think Rachel wanted to push me towards that magical 1000 barrier.

"Since 2012, I think I've visited the school three or four times and the teachers there are incredible: dedicated and driven to inspire their pupils with a love for literacy. It's a fantastic school.

"They don't know it yet but I will be dedicating my ninth book to them next year."

Stuart ditched his job as a hotel manager in Dubai to pursue his dream as a children's author over a decade ago.

The dad of two has gone from strength to strength ever since, writing seven sequels to his first book while inspiring countless youngsters to start reading in the process.

He has also been recognised for his work with the Enterprise in Education Award from Falkirk Council Community Trust and was the Silver Seal winner at the Forward National Literature Awards in 2012.
