The exhibition is set to remain in the library's gallery until March 3 and provides a look at the history of the LGBTQ+ community in Moray and throughout the UK.

The display features educational slides on Scottish LGBT History, photographs taken by Stuart Linden Rhodes from the gay scene in Northern England during the 1990s and a selection of pride flags from throughout history.

Pictures and videos of last years Pride in Moray event will also be exhibited, an event which made local history here in Moray as the regions first ever Pride.

A spokesperson from Pride in Moray said: "Fifty years after the first UK Pride march took place in London, we had our first ever Pride March here in Moray.

"On September 3 2022 members of the LGBT+ community in Moray came together with friends and allies to celebrate our diversity and march with Pride through the streets of Elgin, followed by an afternoon of celebrations, entertainment, fun, love and acceptance in the Cooper Park.

"This exhibition aims to commemorate the day and to say a massive thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and committee members for helping to make it happen."

The team are selling the photographs displayed in the exhibition. The framed prints from the Linden Archive are priced at £50 and £100. The posters, which feature photographs from Moray Pride taken by local photographer Tom Salway are also for sale for £25 each and all proceeds will be put towards this years event.

Pride in Moray added: "We hope to have another Pride in Moray this year.

"As with most things in this world, there will be a financial cost and we will need to raise funds to make it happen.

"So all of the images displayed will be for sale. If anyone would like to purchase any of the images, volunteer or make a donation please email us at pridemoray@gmail.com"

The team are also running a competition to design a mascot for Pride in Moray 2023 during February.

Entries to the mascot competition can be submitted at the library or via email to: pridemoray@gmail.com
