The charity has worked closely with personnel at the base to ensure that boxes reach those most in need.

The initiative is part of the charity's wider 'Christmas Smiles' campaign which aims to spread some festive cheer to those who are missing their parents during the holidays.

Debs Tulip, HIVE Information Officer at RAF Lossiemouth, said: “This year has been a tough year for some of our families with an increase in the tempo of life here at RAF Lossiemouth with many parents being away several times a year.

"We were therefore delighted to receive 100 Christmas Smiles to distribute to the children of our service personnel who will be away over the Christmas period.

"We also cannot thank Little Troopers enough for organising this wonderful initiative."

Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers, added: “Christmas Smiles is a campaign we’ve been running for years to support children who have a parent deployed over Christmas.

"It’s a really hard time of year to be separated from a parent and our aim is to make these children feel special and supported.

“We’re so excited to be putting together our own Christmas boxes this year and we hope they make a real difference to military children in Lossiemouth who are struggling with their parent away.”

The Little Troopers Christmas Smiles boxes have been made possible thanks to funding from the Veterans’ Foundation, Pinnacle Service Families, RUK Advanced Systems and Day One People. JDT Utilities transported the boxes.

David Shaw, CEO of the Veterans’ Foundation, said: “We are delighted to support this fabulous initiative which will bring smiles and happiness to military children this Christmas.”
