Respiratory 'rescue pack' claim false, say Moray GPs

A FALSE social media post is in circulation over "rescue packs" for people with respiratory conditions.

Moray doctors have been moved to put out a public message to highlight that people with conditions such as asthma or COPD should continue to manage these as they usually do – and that no such packs were being prescribed amid the coronavirus crisis.

In a joint message shared by Health and Social Care Moray, a number of Moray GP practices said: "We have been made aware that there is an inaccurate post circulating with regards to receiving 'rescue packs' – steroids and antibiotics – from the GP for people with respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

"This information is false.

Sufferers of respiratory conditions should continue to manage their conditions as normal.

"If you have one of these pre-existing conditions then you should continue to manage your condition as normal."
