Buckie area roadworks round-up

A VARIETY of roadworks have been announced for the Buckie area this coming week.

At Taigh Na Creagan on Great Eastern Road, Buckie Openreach will be enabling new localised ultra-fast broadband connections. This activity involves excavation to instal a telecoms duct to provide essential service and reinstatement. Work is expected to be completed by February 29.

At the harbour outside the under-construction Ocean Winds operational base at 30 Commercial Road Moray Council are installing a new surface water drainage pipework across road. This should be finished by March 4.

Work is ongoing at the Logie's Lane footpath where Moray Council are repairing the concrete steps.

Meanwhile, the council are continuing their carriageway and footpath resurfacing works on North High Street. This got under way September 18 last year and is expected to last 136 working days in all.

March 1 is expected to see the completion of work to instal new water mains adjacent to the Scottish Episcopal Church, Cluny Square, Buckie.

Scottish Gas Network (SGN) will be working over the entire length of Cluny Terrace in Buckie to replace gas mains. Work should start by April 16 for 133 working days.

Over at Station Road, Portgordon, SSEN are working to fix a fault and should be finished by March 1.

One road closure is in the offing – Scottish Water are set to close Seafield Street in Cullen at the junction with Foreshore Road from March 11-22, with a diversion route following Seafield Street, A98, Seatown and Foreshore Road.
