ROADWORKS are set to take place on a section of the A96 in Elgin from tomorrow.

A contraflow system will be in operation from the roundabout at Harry Gow Bakery to the roundabout on the exit of Elgin, beside KFC.

This will allow Scottish Water to undertake essential repair work on a damaged manhole cover.

The traffic management measures will be in place from 6am on Wednesday, January 26, until 6am on Thursday, January 27.

Right turns in and out of the Pinefield Industrial Estate will not be possible on this section of the road for the duration of the work, with diverted traffic being directed up to the nearby roundabouts to make left turns into the estate.

The work is being carried out by Scottish Water contractor Idverde.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We would like to thank customers and road users for their patience and understanding while this essential repair work is completed.

"Our team on site will be working to keep disruption to a minimum, but we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
