Robertson director wins industry recognition

A MORAY man has been recognised as the North of Scotland's 'face of construction'.
Raymond More, the business development director for Robertson Northern, was presented with an industry excellence award at this year's Highland Construction and Property dinner.
Mr More, who was educated at Hopeman Primary and Lossiemouth High before going on to the Robert Gordon Institute of Technology, has worked with the Elgin firm for more than 30 years, first from its Elgin HQ before moving to the firm's Inverness offices.
He said: "It's a privilege to be a recipient of the Industry Excellence award. The construction sector plays an incredibly important role in the Highlands, as both an employer and through its positive impact on local communities.
"It’s an innovative, dynamic and rewarding industry and I have always tried to contribute and give something back to the professions and industry that provide me with my livelihood.”
Mr More was nominated by his peers for both his contribution to the sector and for his involvement in charity events.
As a volunteer committee member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), he has helped to raise over £130,000 for good causes through a number of events.
Mr More was also a founder volunteer committee member for the Highland Construction and Property Dinner, which has raised more than £70,000 over the last seven years.
He is further dedicated to the future of the industry and has sat on the Developing the Young Workforce board for Moray and has been a STEM ambassador for a number of initiatives across the area.
In addition, he has worked closely with the University of the Highlands and Islands construction advisory board.
Robertson Northern managing director Frank Reid congratulated him on behalf of the whole team.
"Not only is Raymond a highly valued and dedicated employee, he is committed to ensuring a positive future for the construction industry in the Highlands," he said.
"He has done some incredible work in partnership with numerous partners across the North of Scotland to inspire the next generation of construction workers and address the skills gap facing the industry, as well as providing much needed support to charities who undertake vital work in our local communities."
