Rotafest 22 is set to take place in Cooper Park across the weekend of June 4, with a fun atmosphere for all the family.

There will be charity stalls, entertainment, music, pipe bands, a food and drink marquee, vintage and green cars, as well as a procession and parade involving Moray primary schools.

The event is also set to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with two jubilee-themed events on Saturday afternoon.

In the build up to the weekend, Rotary Elgin is running the Triple Challenge – which will see those taking part swim 800 metres, cycle 50 kilometres and run five miles.

The swim is set to take place at Lossiemouth High School on February 26, marking the beginning of the challenge, with the cycle event set for April 24.

The five-mile run will take place on Sunday, June 5, during Rotafest.

George McLean, chairman of Rotafest, said: "2019 was the last time we held an event, so we are into the third year now without anything.

"Now that restrictions are starting to be reduced, hopefully people can look forward to a fun day in the sunshine.

"Because we haven't had any events for a couple of years, we decided to combine them all into one big festival.

"It's a family and community event and will utilise the whole of Cooper Park."

It’s a financial challenge for Rotary Elgin to put on this weekend – and the club is therefore appealing for some help.

If a business feels they can support Rotary Elgin, they are invited to email elginrotafun@gmail.com.

Support has already come in from Rothes-based Hendersons Ltd.

Director Chris Henderson said: “Hendersons are again delighted to help Rotary Elgin organise great events in the Cooper Park.

"This year will be very special celebrating the big Platinum Jubliee holiday weekend.

"In particular we’re delighted to sponsor the run event, the final part of the Triple Challenge on Sunday, June 5."
