ROTARY Elgin's Triple Challenge is set to get under way this month.

The Triple Challenge marks the start of the group's Rotafest 22 celebrations, which will also mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The challenge will see competitors asked to swim 800 metres, cycle 50 kilometres and run five miles.

The swim is first up, with those taking part set to swim 800 metres at Lossiemouth's Sports and Community Centre between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, February 26.

The cycle will take place on April 24, with the run coinciding with the Rotafest 22 weekend at Cooper Park on June 4 and 5.

Highly unusual in design, outstanding three-part medals will be presented to all who take part.

Organisers stress that you those taking part do not need to take part in all of the events and each medal section is highly prized.

While the aim is to swim 800 metres (40 lengths) at Lossie Swimming Pool, don’t worry if that sounds too much or the date doesn’t suit, swimmers can opt to complete this event at any pool in their own time and submit their timings.

Entry for the swim is £20. There is no requirement to raise sponsorship as very generous support has been provided by Elgin-based electrical engineers McDonald and Munro.

All surplus monies will be donated to local Moray charities.

Entries details are available at https://resultsbase.net/event/6050.
