Save Our Surgeries campaign group plan two more protest marches ahead of permanent closure discussions

THE Save Our Surgeries campaign group will hold two protest marches, ahead of next month's Integration Joint Board (IJB) meeting.
The group who have been campaigning against the closure of the two branch surgeries in Hopeman and Burghead, held a protest outside Moray Coast Medical Practice's Lossiemouth Health Centre in April and have even taken to putting poster boards up in the two villages to share their message.
The practices in Hopeman and Burghead have been closed since the beginning of the Covid pandemic in 2020 with the Moray Joint Integration Board approving their indefinite closure in January of this year.
The Save Our Surgeries group have led the community movement to save the two practices and are encouraging people to come along to the their two protest marches this month.
The first march from the Bowling Club to the Headland in Burghead will take place on Wednesday May 10 at 6.30pm.
A second protest will following the next week on May 17 at 6.30pm, where the group will march from Hopeman Harbour to the old Doctor's Surgery on Harbour Street.
The group are continuing their campaign ahead of the Integration Joint Board (IJB) meeting on June 26, where the board are expected to discuss closing the two surgeries permanently.
