Scotland moves to phase two of lockdown

SCOTLAND is moving to phase two of lockdown easing.

People who are shielding can now exercise outdoors as long as they remain two metres away from people.

They will also be able to meet people from another household outdoors, with social distancing.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "We are taking a considered and planned way forward," she said. "There is no alternative to this careful route we are taking right now."

All retail shops will be allowed to reopen from Monday, June 29, however, pubs and clubs will not yet be allowed to open outdoor areas. Indoor shopping centres cannot open until phase three.

As from tomorrow, people your household can meet up with two households outdoors, still a maximum of eight people. However, people will be allowed to go into someone's house to use the toilet, while maintaining strict hygiene.

From Monday, June 22, face coverings will become mandatory on public transport.

Places of worship can also re-open for individual prayer or contemplation.

And professional sport can resume – with public health restrictions remaining in place.

Dental practices will be able to re-open in order to see patients with urgent care needs.

The construction sector can implement the remaining phases of the sector plan.

College and university staff can return to make essential preparations for a restart in phase three.

People are still being encouraged to travel not more than five miles for leisure and recreation purposes.

Non-cohabiting couples can be reunited indoors without physical distancing.

From June 29, indoor (non-office) workplaces can resume once relevant guidance is implemented. That includes factories, warehouses, labs and research facilities.

However, it excludes indoor workplaces due to open in phase three (non-essential offices and call-centres).

Relaxation on restrictions on housing moves will be lifted, outdoor sports can reopen, playgrounds will reopen and marriages and civil partnerships will be allowed, but only outdoors and with a minimal number of guests.

Zoos and garden attractionswill be able to open for local access only (broadly within five miles).
