Scottish Agritourism, the sector body for agritourism in Scotland, is inviting applications from Scottish based business and industry professionals to join the Scottish Agritourism Board of Directors.

Established as a skills-based board in April 2022, the Scottish Agritourism Board has played a key role in developing the organisation since it began operating as a stand-alone entity from April 1, 2022.

Providing support and advice to the sector lead, chairman and destination leaders, board members ensure that agritourism is developed in each area of rural Scotland and that Scottish Agritourism plays a key role in delivering Scotland’s national agritourism strategy.

New board members will be announced at the Scottish Agritourism conference in Perth this November, taking up their posts in January 2024. Applications are specifically sought to bring fresh expertise in marketing, commerce and ecommerce.

New board members will serve for two years however current board members, Riddell Graham, chair, and Fiona Campbell, chief executive of the ASSC and Karen Wilson as treasurer and will remain to serve a third year and allow for the retention of experience in the relatively new board.

In addition, two former or current destination leaders form part of the board together with the chair and sector lead.

Scottish Agritourism, as both a sector and a membership body is developing apace and this is an exciting time to be involved.

Board members can expect to represent the sector to a wider audience, including elected officials and press.

The deadline for Scottish Agritourism Board applications is Friday October 13.
